‘Interaction – When Cinema Looks To Nature’ is GAIL-partnered ART for the World’s latest Anthology film. Comprising of 12 original short films, the Anthology had its world premiere at the Rome Film Festival in October 2022. It has been produced under the auspices of: the UN Biodiversity Conference CBD COP15 (Montreal, Canada) and the World Academy of Art and Science. Since then, the film has been screened around the world at various film festivals and forums. Through this film, 12 International Filmmakers have tried to create connections between Humans and Animals, through Biodiversity, Climate Change, Environment and Water Risks. Out of 12 short stories, India is represented by ‘Elephant in the Room’ by internationally renowned film maker ‘Nila Madhab Panda’. The film makes an appeal to humanity to preserve forests and biodiversity. ‘The Elephant in the Room’ narrates the story of human-animal interaction through the eyes of little children from a small village in the forests of Wayanad in Kerala in Southern India. Growing up with these elephants, the children develop a special bond with the pachyderms and make a unique appeal on how to resolve human - wild animal conflict while preserving forests and biodiversity.
